Over the next month I’m testing 11 domains on Afternic’s home page featured section.
Listing domains on exchanges like Afternic and Sedo is typically free, but exposure is limited. Both of these services offer premium listings that offer more exposure for a price. Over the next 30 days I am listing 11 of my domains on Afternic’s home page featured section and will report to you with my results (i.e., sales, offers, views) compared to regular listings.
I’ve chosen a diverse group of domains. They represent different industries, price points, and quality. Some are listed with minimum asking prices only; others including a “buy it now” price. Here are the domains:
InvestmentLinks.com – minimum offer $950
SkatingClass.com – minimum offer $300
SkatingClasses – minimum offer $300
CankerSores.com – minimum offer $8,000
Pledges.org – minimum offer $450
eDropShippers.com – minimum offer $650
Decay.com – minimum offer $2,900
Wifi.us – minimum offer $2,000
WireTransfer.biz – minimum offer $750
YouSubmit.com – minimum offer $95
Blogs.info – minimum offer $2,500
The domains were listed on Friday, and already I’ve received two offers (via Afternic’s “contact seller” system) for Decay.com, but but were at tad below the minimum asking price. I’ll keep you posted during July and post complete results from this experiment at the end of the month.

I think listing the domains on your blog will also affect interest in those domains, so your results may not be accurate.

Perhaps, but I already have a good idea of the amount of traffic to these listings that the domains are getting since featuring them. Additionally, domains I’ve listed as available in the blog in the past have not garnered much interest.
