Sedo has partnered with DomainCapital for financing of domains over $10,000 and has announced support for international domain names.
Buying domain names can be a good investment, but what if you don’t have the cash in hand to take advantage of a good deal? DomainCapital provides financing for domain names and has created a partnership with Sedo. According to a press release, Sedo has already brokered 211 transactions for domains valued at least $10,000 this year. Personally, I’d advise looking at a number of sources for financing domains. Although a bank might not loan you money with a domain as collateral, you can usually take out a general small business loan or finance through a home equity loan.
Sedo also announced that it now supports international domain names in its parking program. This includes domains with non-english characters, such as Arabic, Korean, and Mandarin. Although parking service Parked.com announced support for IDNs previously, the service isn’t actually supporting IDNs right now. Sedo appears to be the first company to actually support IDNs (please comment if you know of others).
