Sedo is sending its founder to its U.S. office to help the company attack the North American market.
Sedo founder and CEO Tim Schumacher is relocating from Europe to Boston to help the company increase its presence in North America. Sedo established itself as the king of domains in Europe and is viewed similarly in the US, although there’s a lot more domain aftermarket competition in the US, where Afternic and GoDaddy’s TDNAM have a share of the market. The Sedo US operations were not founded until 2004 (Afternic was founded in the US in 1999).
Former Sedo US CEO Matt Bentley will likely head to the company’s offices in Germany.
Worldwide, Sedo has 300,000 members and has played a role in over 10,000 domain transactions. You can see a list of some of Sedo’s most popular domains available for purchase in the left hand column of this page under “Domains for Sale”.
