I had a chance to meet with representatives from domain registrar Moniker while at the Search Engine Strategies conference in New York last week. Moniker “unveiled” its new paid parking program at the show, dubbed Traffic Club. “Unveils” is a strong word because they are still working out the kinks. In fact, if you go to TrafficClub.com you won’t find any information; just a login screen. The program seems to be in a limited beta right now.
The good news is that Traffic Club looks like it could be an excellent program. Traffic Club aggregates other parking programs (e.g. Google, DomainSponsor) and split tests your domains over these programs. It figures out which ones are earning the most money for each domain and optimizes accordingly. I have 8 domains running right now and the results have been mixed. I don’t think the system is counting every page view because the numbers are lower than on other parking providers. However, revenue has been acceptable. I’ll report back later as Traffic Club works out the kinks.
